If you're reading this whilst shifting uncomfortably in your chair because your lower back is playing up again, this email might just change everything for you. I've recently started working with two clients who had been struggling with chronic back pain for months. Both had already tried pretty much everything (doctor visits, physio sessions, massages, strengthening exercises...) Some of that helped for a while, but the pain kept coming back. Here's what I found fascinating: during our initial assessment, I discovered that neither of their "back problems" were actually coming from their backs at all. The real culprits 🕵️♀️ Sleeping muscles around their hipsYou see, some of our muscles can switch off if they underutilised. But because our body is brilliant, other muscles are ready to help and pick up the slack. Unfortunately, if they help for too long, they become overworked. It's a bit like covering for a colleague who's constantly off sick when you already have more than enough on your plate (deffo never happened to me). Eventually, those hardworking muscles burn out from doing double duty, creating tension and pain. The pain shows up in these muscles, not where the actual problem lies. This is why traditional approaches often fall short. Scans and X-rays can't detect muscle imbalances. They're looking for structural damage when the issue is functional. Massages relieve the tension for a while, but do nothing to fix the imbalance. My approach is differentWe identify which muscles have "gone to sleep," wake them up with targeted exercises, then gradually strengthen them whilst releasing tension in the overworked areas. Both clients experienced significant relief after just one session. Not because I'm magic, but because we addressed the root cause rather than just the symptoms. If this resonates with you, if you're tired of managing pain rather than resolving it, I'd love to help. My "little and often" approach fits around busy lives because I understand that lengthy treatment protocols simply aren't realistic for most people. I currently have space for just 2 new clients this month, as I limit my practice to ensure everyone receives the personalised attention they deserve.
Your body deserves better than constant compensation patterns. Om, peace 🧡 Clem PS: If you have any questions, you can reply to this email or write to me on WhatsApp. Even if you're not ready to sign up to work with me, I'm always happy to help! |
I'm a bilingual yoga teacher who helps people who sit a lot gain mobility, move without pain and reduce their stress.
I need to tell you something that one of my clients shared with me last week. She told me she was always afraid to come into a low lunge, because teachers have told her many times that she should never let her front knee go past her toes in a lunge, or she might hurt herself. The dangerous lunge! It's an unfortunately common cue, and it's also complete nonsense. Your knee goes past your toes every single time you climb stairs, get up from a chair, or squat down. It's a completely natural...
It's not always easy to find your way when you're starting out with yoga and you're faced with the multitude of styles that exist. It puts off more than a few people, which is completely normal, but it's also such a shame 🐘 That's why I've decided to create an episode on my French podcast that breaks down each of the main styles in a simple and clear way, so you know which style speaks to you, and which ones you'd rather avoid. And I thought you'd appreciate a little summary in English :)...
A letter you've been meaning to send for 3 weeks, a conversation you're avoiding, paperwork that's been lingering in the back of your mind... This week, I want to talk to you about the paralysis we feel when facing action. As someone who struggles with anxiety, it's a topic I've had to confront often, and last week, a client shared with me: "This week, I'm going to focus on not being afraid of judgement so I can finally take action." Perhaps you've told yourself something similar? It's so...
